Asia’s best pastry chef and Singapore’s dessert queen, Janice Wong brewed up a delicious storm with her dessert concoctions at the Wisk launch on the 20th of August. Chef Wong embodies Wisk’s values to the t. Making art delicious, she scores gallons on innovation. Like Wisk, she believes in thorough creativity which formulates the making of her dessert creations.
For the Intermediate course, Janice worked with the students on her customized Guava Mango and her signature Marshmallow paintings. With a visible love in the air, the students let go of their inhibitions as they painted their canvases with edible colors and fleecy marshmallows. Focusing on techniques like emulsification and aeration, Chef Wong proved to be an excellent teacher.
The Professional Course tackled sorbets, parfaits and confectionery; the students buzzing with renewed energy as the put up Chef Wong’s Popcorn Parfait and lived an artistic day with their very own marshmallow paintings.
Abandoning the niceties, Chef Wong, decided to plate up her desserts on the workstation tables itself, making it evident that art is free and untamed.
